I'm Alice Bates, an experienced dog trainer and behaviourist with over 10 years of professional experience helping dogs and their owners overcome behavioural and training challenges.
I hold a First-Class BSc (Hons) in Animal Behaviour, a Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in Clinical Animal Behaviour, and have successfully completed the second year of my MSc in Clinical Animal Behaviour through the University of Edinburgh. My work is grounded in the latest scientific understanding of animal behaviour, allowing me to provide practical, evidence-based training and behaviour support tailored to each individual dog.
Throughout my career, I have worked as a behaviourist for leading animal welfare charities in both the UK and Spain, supporting a wide range of dogs with everything from puppy foundations and basic training to more complex behavioural challenges.
I am committed to ongoing professional development and have completed additional training with organisations including the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) and the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT), ensuring my knowledge and methods remain current and effective.
Animals have always been at the heart of my life. Alongside my two dogs, Ivan, a Czechoslovakian Wolfdog, and Laika, a Saarloos Wolfdog, I also share my home with a variety of other animals, including ferrets, rats, snakes, and a skunk, and I part-share a pony. Living and working with such a diverse range of species has given me a deep appreciation of animal behaviour, welfare, and the individual personalities that make every animal unique.
When I'm not helping clients or studying, I enjoy spending time with my son and our collection of animals, as well as getting outdoors to go climbing, paddle boarding, or horse riding.
